The Vale do Lobo Royal Course was originally designed by Sir Henry Cotton and was updated by 'American golf architect 'Rocky' Roquemore. It incorporates the world Famous par-3, hole the 16th, which is a spectacular hole which calls for an extensive carry over two yawning chasms in the red sandstone cliffs to the green 176 metres away. It is probably the most photographed hole in the history of golf. The course as been perfected in recent years and is in immacalute condition, and is only 20 minutes drive west of faro Airport.
One of the signature holes is the par-3 ninth over a lake to a spectacular semi-island green. Another fine hole is the challenging par-4 twelfth with sharply contoured fairway and a Large green bunkered on all sides.

Driving Instructions:
20 Kilometres west of Faro Airport on the Quinta da Lago estate. There are three main roads to the coast from the village of Almancil. The courses are well signposted from Almancil.
