In February, Algarve's golf offer
have been enriched with the opening of Golfe do Morgado
course. Being part of Morgado do Reguengo's turistic
project, in Portimão, this 18 holes course is
a challenge that golf lovers wouldn't refuse. Its 6399
meters of length are the proof that Golfe do Morgado
isn't just another course. A par 73, this course is
known by two others distinguishing marks: the size of
the greens - wide, challenging the putting skills -,
and the deepness of the bunkers, that could punish a
not so good shot. The water hazards are also in play,
thanks to a lake that affects some of the holes.
Golfe do Morgado is supported by a club-house where
golfers can find a bar, a restaurant and a pro-shop.
It´s possible to ask for rental clubs, trolleys
or buggies.
This new golf course has a resident pro, Nélson
Cavalheiro, former director instructor of David Leadbetter
Academy. Players can also improve their game using the
training facilities: a driving-range, with a chipping
area, and one putting-green surface. All these equipment
are placed near the club-house, with an easy access
and creating a sporting atmosphere.
The opening of Golfe do Morgado, in February 3, was
the first step of Morgado do Reguengo turistic project.
With a total area of 980 hectares, this property will
receive another 18 holes golf course and two 5-star
hotels. In this project, nature is first.
